Print copies of annual Hillsborough County water quality reports available

Print copies of Hillsborough County’s annual water quality reports for tests performed in 2012 are now available.

The Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department operates seven public water systems. Each system has its own report.

In years past, customers received a copy of the report for their water system in the mail. This year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency allowed public water systems to use the Internet as a cost-effective way of delivering these reports. (See link below.)

Copies may be mailed upon request by calling 813-246-3146. They also are available at the Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department customer service centers, located in the Brandon Support Operations Complex at 332 N. Falkenburg Road, and in northwest Hillsborough County at 15610 Premiere Drive (off Northdale Boulevard, one block west of Dale Mabry Highway). The reports will be available in many public libraries in late July.

Hillsborough County Public Utilities provides 50 million gallons of drinking water every day to more than 535,000 customers. In 2012, the department’s Environmental Laboratory performed more than 17,000 drinking water tests to ensure that customers were receiving water that consistently met their expectations. This year, the water from the Lake Park Water Treatment Plant snagged top honors for the best tap water in a regional contest sponsored by the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association (FSAWWA).
